About
The longer version. Still not very long.
Who I am
I'm Paige, though most of the internet knows me as @everywhxn. It's pronounced “everywhen”; the x is doing its best.
I'm Polish, Silesian through and through, and I was born in 2008. Polish is my first language, but English is the one I actually live in most days.
I don't have a fixed gender and I'm comfortable with any pronouns; they/them is a safe default if you're unsure. I'm gay.
What I do for money
I trained as a baker and spent several years in a bakery, which taught me that early starts are a lifestyle rather than a phase. Baking is still a proper skill of mine, and running a business of my own one day isn't off the table.
These days I work in a convenience shop: tills, parcels, post, food, cleaning, often on my own, on either the early shift or the late one. I like it more than the bakery. I also have strong feelings about paper shelf labels. Electronic ones exist. I'm just saying.
What I do for fun
Software is the thing I do because I want to, not because I have to. Most of it happens under RSX, which I founded. It started with Roblox and has since grown into infrastructure, web services, command-line tools and apps, and these days most of my time there goes on architecture and development.
RSX is part of Whitehill Group, an online group that makes Roblox places and the systems behind them. Neither is a company; both are just people. I've been with Whitehill for many months too, through support, community, PR and admin, and somewhere around the admin stage RSX joined the Whitehill family.
The one closest to my heart is Native, an operating system. Building one was a childhood dream, and it's slowly turning into something real.
Everything else
Charli xcx has been my most-played artist for a long time. There's a whole page about it.
I like snakes, spiders, and generally the animals other people back away from. One day I'd like a cherry-morph ball python, possibly called Roxel.
I like being warm, and I sleep in an elaborate arrangement of pillows and blankets. It is not a nest, whatever anyone tells you.
I dye my hair now and then. I love old interfaces, old websites, and design systems that mean what they say, which is roughly how this site happened.
Not religious; I'll take the scientific explanation, thanks. I am a Gemini, which explains nothing and yet somehow fits.
The ruleLive the life you want, enjoy what matters to you, and don't hurt yourself or anyone else.
